Let's start a dialogue about your custom, hand carved sculpture.

1. What is your species?

I can make any skull. The size of the species helps determine the price. 

2. What kind of wood are you drawn to?

I create my sculptures in my workshop in Traverse City, Michigan. I begin by sustainably harvesting the wood,  then I mill the lumber, hand carve, sand, and finish the piece. Every work of art is unique and each piece of wood is carefully selected to bring out its natural beauty and character. Most of the work I create is from locally sourced wood. I typically have ash, black walnut, cherry, maple, oak, red cedar, and spalted maple in stock. I will work with wood that you supply yourself if you have a specific section of wood that you want me to use, but keep in mind that it will not reduce the price of the work. 

3. What style do you prefer?

Decor pieces are more geometric and Detailed pieces are fully rendered with piercings to look more like a skull. 

4. How does this work?

You ship your horns or antlers to me. We talk about your species, price, what kind of wood you want, and what style you prefer. I hand carve your custom sculpture and ship it back to you when it is finished. It can take anywhere from one to six months or more to complete depending on level of detail, timing of your order, etc..
